Competitor notes to table
Pasted competitor notes become one comparison table.
The demo uses fictional data. The output shown is what the skill produced on that sample input.
Try it in 3 steps
- 01
Copy the folder, or just SKILL.md, into .claude/skills/ in your project (or into ~/.claude/skills/ to use it everywhere).
- 02
Open Claude Code and ask for it by name, for example: Use the competitor-snapshot skill on my files.
- 03
Check the result. Skills write a new file and never overwrite yours.

# Competitor snapshot: scheduling tools for small clinics Compared against: ClinicSlot. Source: input.md only. "Not in the notes" means the notes say nothing about it. | Dimension | Brightline | Cobalt Desk | Tidewater Health | |---|---|---|---| | Price | 29 EUR per user per month, billed yearly | From 79 EUR per month per location, flat, no per-user fee | Contact sales, no public numbers | | Target customer | Physio and dental practices, 2 to 10 staff | Multi-location clinics (5+ sites) | Hospital outpatient departments (trade show pitch) | | Key features | Online booking, SMS reminders, waiting list | Online booking, intake forms, reporting dashboard | Online booking, video visits, patient app | | Integrations | Stripe, Google Calendar | Xero, Outlook | Not in the notes | | Trial | 14-day trial | Not in the notes | Not in the notes | | Support | Forum reviewer: answered in an hour (one report) | Email only (their help page) | Not in the notes | | Known weaknesses | Not in the notes | Data export "on the roadmap" (sales rep) | Patient app slow on older phones (one customer) | ## Gaps to fill - Not in the notes: Tidewater Health integrations and support hours; trial terms for Cobalt Desk and Tidewater Health; weaknesses of Brightline. - Thin evidence: Brightline support rests on one forum comment; the Tidewater weakness rests on one customer. ## Takeaways (from the notes only) - Brightline and Cobalt Desk price differently (per user vs per location), so a direct price comparison needs the clinic's staff count. - The three tools aim at different sizes: Brightline at 2 to 10 staff, Cobalt Desk at 5+ sites, Tidewater Health at hospital departments.

--- name: competitor-snapshot description: Turns pasted notes about several competitors into one side-by-side comparison table, marking every cell the notes do not cover as "not in the notes". Use when someone has scattered competitor notes and needs a table without guesses. --- # Competitor snapshot Pasted notes in, one comparison table out, with honest gaps instead of guesses. ## When to use - The user pastes or points to notes on two to six competitors (pricing pages, call notes, reviews, trade show scribbles). - They want a table for a meeting, a pitch or a positioning decision. ## Inputs - Notes as text or a file path. If missing, ask for them. - Optional: the user's own product name and the dimensions they care about. If none are given, use: Price, Target customer, Key features, Integrations, Trial, Support, Known weaknesses. - Ask which notes are first-hand and which are hearsay if that is unclear. ## Steps 1. Read all the notes. List the competitors and the facts stated for each. 2. Fix the dimensions (rows) from the user's list or the default list. Add a row only if several competitors share a fact type not covered. 3. For each competitor and dimension, fill the cell with the fact as the notes state it, using the notes' own numbers and words. Shorten, do not reinterpret. 4. When the notes say nothing for a cell, write exactly `Not in the notes`. Do not infer from the product type or from other competitors. 5. Add the source in brackets when a fact is a single opinion or hearsay, for example "(one customer)" or "(sales rep)". 6. List the gaps: every `Not in the notes` cell, grouped by competitor, and every claim backed by only one remark. 7. Write 2 to 4 takeaways that follow directly from the table. If a takeaway needs a fact the notes lack, drop it. ## Output Write `competitor-snapshot.md` as a new file with: a title, a one-line source note, the table (competitors as columns, dimensions as rows), `## Gaps to fill`, and `## Takeaways (from the notes only)`. ## Rules - Never invent prices, features, dates, customers or quotes. A blank is better than a guess. - Write results to a new file, never overwrite the notes. - Do not use outside knowledge about the companies, even if you recognise the names. - Keep quotes exactly as written in the notes. - Do not rank or declare a winner; say what the notes support. - Keep the notes local; do not look anything up. - Out of scope: legal, tax or financial advice, including pricing strategy advice.
